Run For Your Lives – FDA Says Frankenfoods are Okay

FDA Loves GMO Food

FDA Loves GMO Foood

The Food and Drug Administration will not require labeling of genetically-modified salmon or any other food.

In an article published in the Washington Post, Lyndsey Layton outlines how the FDA says “it cannot require a label on the genetically modified food once it determines that the altered fish is not “materially” different from other salmon.”

The article goes on to say that “conventional food makers say the FDA has made it difficult for them to boast that their products do not contain genetically modified ingredients.”

Genetically Modified Organism is the term given to an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. Up to now, the FDA has only allowed GMO crops to be used in food production. If GMO salmon is approved, then manufacturers will be lining up for approval of all GMO meat products.

“In the European Union and Japan, it is nearly impossible to find genetically modified foods, largely because laws require labeling,” said William K. Hallman, director of the Food Policy Institute at Rutgers University. “No one wants to carry products with such a label,” he said. “The food companies figure that consumers won’t buy it.”

There you have it. Frankenfoods are okay with the FDA. Contaminated food from China. E-Coli produce from Mexico. Salmonella eggs from Iowa. It’s all fine with the FDA.

This is another reason to have your own supply of clean, non-GMO food. Not only is it great for a disaster, it is now wise to store food you know is safe. Safe food will be increasingly difficult to find in the future.

Store safe food for your family today, while you still can.

Is Your Family Ready for a Mandatory Emergency Evacuation?

72 Hour Kit is Perfect for Evacuations

Perfect for Your Vehicles

72-hour Emergency Meal Kits are flying off the shelves these days. With the hurricane season in full force in the Gulf Coast and on the East Coast, people are feeling the need to carry provisions in their cars. It’s wise, because evacuations could become a reality for some areas.

“The Department of Homeland Security and FEMA both recommend you should have at least 72 hours of food and water for each member of your family. I think people are finally starting to see that being prepared is not such a crazy idea after all.”

The Mountain House 72-Hour Emergency Meal Kit is small, portable, and costs around $55.00. It feeds one person for three days and the food tastes great.
