A look at the H1N1

An article on the Bloomberg news website states that the World Health Organization (WHO) is planning on declaring the first Influenza pandemic in 41 years.

“The Geneva-based WHO within days will declare the first influenza pandemic in 41 years, according to people familiar with the United Nations agency’s plans,” states Bloomberg News. Another quote from the article states:

“Swine flu, also known as H1N1, is entrenched in North America, Australia and Chile. WHO says 21,940 cases, including 125 deaths, have been reported in 69 countries.”

At this stage, I don’t think that people will react with a great amount of fear when the pandemic is officially declared. So, I’m not worried about the food supply right now. However, I do wonder what will happen in the fall and winter months, when they say the influenza will likely mutate and become much stronger.
