Tornado Shelter

You’ve been preparing for a while now, but you’ve been doing it on the quiet. After all, you don’t want anyone to find out. What good would it do making preparations if the whole neighborhood found out? Well, you soon won’t be so alone in your endeavors.

Gerald Celente, the founder of the Trends Research Institute and author of The Trends Journal predicts that survivalism will hit the mainstream in 2010. Quoting Mr. Celente:

“In 2010, survivalism will go mainstream. Unemployed or fearing it, foreclosed or nearing it, pensions lost and savings gone, all sorts of folk who once believed in the system have lost their faith.

Motivated not by worst-case scenario fears but by do-or-die necessity, the new non-believers, unwilling to go under or live on the streets, will devise ingenious stratagems to beat the system, get off the grid (as much as possible), and stay under the radar…”

Even Noah Had Food Storage on the Ark

Of Course Noah Had Food Storage on the Ark

Even Noah Had Food Storage on the Ark

That’s right. Noah had food storage on the Ark. You say, “Sure he did, he had all those animals”. No. Noah was trying to preserve all the animals, so he and his family wouldn’t have been eating them. The only possible explanation is that they had food stored on the Ark that would last throughout their journey and then some.

So, here was Noah. A smart guy. He received a message, built an Ark, gathered all the animals, and food, and his family, and was ready for TEOTWAWKI. He and his family got to witness it first-hand, and they lived through it because they were prepared. It makes you think about your own situation and how you should make your own preparations.

The Department of Homeland Security and FEMA both recommend that you have at least 72 hours of food and water for each member of your family. What a great idea!

Mountain House 72-Hour Emergency Meal Kit

Okay. We know Noah had food storage on the Ark. But we don’t know what type. Historical records are a little fuzzy in this area. We can say for certain that he didn’t have Mountain House Freeze Dried Food. We know this because Oregon Freeze Dry, the company who makes Mountain House Freeze Dried, was founded in 1963, long after Noah’s journey took place. However, you can take advantage of Mountain House Food today.

The Mountain House 72-Hour Emergency Meal Kit would be a perfect stocking stuffer for the little preppers in your family. It’s inexpensive and tastes great.

Goldman Sachs Execs Buy Guns to Protect Themselves

Did you know that Goldman Sachs executives are buying guns to protect themselves against the public? That is what Bloomberg news is reporting. Gee, was it something we said?

Quoting the article:

“The banker had told this friend of mine that senior Goldman people have loaded up on firearms and are now equipped to defend themselves if there is a populist uprising against the bank.”

I sincerely hope it doesn’t come to that. Shooting a banker will not do anything to change our economic situation or the diving U.S. Dollar. The fact that they are doing it does highlight that people are very worried about what is going on in this country.

French Newspaper Says Food Crisis is Imminent

A Global Food Crisis is Emminent - Make Preparations Now

A Global Food Crisis is Imminent

France’s leading newspaper, Le Monde, has interviewed the U.N. Rapporteur for Food Rights, Olivier de Schutter. Here is part of the interview:

                    ———- Begin Excerpt ———-

Le Monde: Has the situation improved since the “hunger riots” of 2008?

Olivier de Schutter: No. All the conditions for a new food crisis within a year or two are assembled. The question is not whether it will take place, but when. The structural causes for the 2008 food crisis – an abrupt increase in prices linked to cyclical factors and accelerated by speculation – remain in place. Only a single spark would be enough to relaunch the increase in prices. We have not learned our lessons from the last crisis.

                    ———- End Excerpt ———-

This is more evidence that a worldwide food crisis is coming. Heed the warnings.

The Truth About Freeze Dried Food and MREs

Mountain House Food - Chili Mac with Beef

Mountain House Freeze Dried – Chili Mac with Beef

There are definite differences between Mountain House Freeze Dried Foods and MREs. If you want to invest in an emergency food supply for your family, but don’t know which one to go for, here is some help.

As you read through the post, you will learn the advantages and disadvantages of each type.

Freeze-Dried Foods have these features:

  • They come pre-cooked.
  • They require no preparation.
  • Just add hot water (or cold in a pinch), wait 10 minutes, and eat right from the pouch.
  • They require very little cleanup.
  • They do require water for preparation.
  • Everyone likes the taste of Freeze Dried Foods.
  • They are less expensive than MREs.
  • They don’t weigh as much as MREs (in a backpack).
  • There are many more types of meals than with MREs.
  • They store for up to 25 years (lab tests have actually shown they store for over 30 years).

MREs have these features:

  • Each meal is precooked, ready to eat
  • They can be eaten hot or cold, right from the pouch.
  • There is a complete meal in each package.
  • They require more space for storage than Freeze Dried Foods.
  • They are heavier than Freeze Dried Foods (in a backpack).
  • They are more expensive than Freeze Dried Foods
  • The meal selection is limited when compared to Freeze Dried Foods. Only 6 to 12 meal types.
  • Some people do not like the taste (taste is subjective you know).
  • They store for 4 to 6 years.

Now that you know all that, your decision is easy.
